SEO and AI search for HVAC companies

SEO for HVAC companies and heating engineers that also gets you named by ChatGPT. One fixed price: €1,000, no VAT.

The HVAC Visibility Fix is done-for-you SEO for HVAC contractors and heating and air-conditioning engineers: we measure 30 real customer prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini, fix your Google Business Profile, your website and your listings, then measure again 30 days later. 15 working days of work, then the 30-day re-measure. No contract. No monthly fee.

Built on what we did for our own electrical business and our own trades brand. Both went from invisible to named by AI engines, one of them inside three weeks.

3 enquiries in 3 days

Customers who, asked how they found our trades brand, answered ChatGPT or an AI assistant, 10 to 12 Sep 2026. Ad spend on those: zero.

226 to 301

Copilot citations of our electrical business, 4 to 7 Sep 2026, after seven comparison guides went live (Bing AI Performance report).

Named 1st of 5

ChatGPT's answer for electric radiators in Ireland, June 2026, within two months of schema and FAQ work going live on our electrical store.

The short version

What does SEO for HVAC companies involve in 2026?

HVAC SEO in 2026 is the same five things it always was, read by two new judges. Your Google Business Profile, your service and area pages, your reviews, your listings on trusted registers, and business details that match everywhere. Google's map pack reads them. So now do ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini. In the UK and Ireland it is sold as SEO for heating engineers; in the US it is HVAC SEO. The work is the same, only the register changes.

Local SEO for HVAC still decides most of it

The map pack sits on most "AC repair near me" and "heating engineer in [town]" searches, and the ChatGPT local list is built from the same Google Business Profile data. HVAC contractor SEO, done properly, is a profile with the right categories and services, reviews that keep arriving, and one page per service and town. That is the first half of this package. If you are a plumbing and HVAC firm, the same profile and the same pages carry both trades.

Why does ChatGPT matter to an HVAC company?

Because homeowners now type "who can replace a heat pump in Naas this month" into ChatGPT and get a list of three names, and on the first hot week of the year "AC repair near me today" goes to whoever the engine already trusts. In September 2026 our own home-improvement brand took three enquiries in three days from people who, when asked how they found us, said ChatGPT or an AI assistant. Those enquiries cost nothing. Nobody pays for a place on those lists. The businesses named have been structured to be found.

What decides which HVAC contractor gets recommended?

From the AI answers we have logged for two of our own businesses since April 2026: the review count and rating on your Google Business Profile, a page on your site that plainly says the service and the town, structured data that tells the engine you are an HVAC contractor at an address, and a listing on the register the engine trusts (RGII, Gas Safe, F-Gas, MCS, the state licence board). Cost questions go to whoever publishes a price, and emergency questions go to whoever says plainly that they answer the phone at night and at the weekend.

Why a fixed price instead of an HVAC SEO services retainer?

HVAC SEO retainers typically run from about £400 a month in the UK and $900 to $2,500 a month in the US, and the honest ones tell you to wait six months for a traceable enquiry. An HVAC SEO company on retainer is usually spreading a one-off structural fix across twelve invoices. Most of the work that moves the needle for a one-van or five-van heating and cooling business is that one-off fix. So we sell it as one, with a measured result, and let you decide about anything ongoing after you have seen the numbers.

What you get

What is in the HVAC Visibility Fix?

Seven pieces of work, all done for you, in 15 working days. The schema and listings follow a fixed pattern; the prompts, the profile copy and the page copy are written for your towns and your services.

Deliverable What we do Why it matters
30-prompt AI visibility audit We ask ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini the questions your customers ask ("AC repair near me today", "how much does a heat pump cost installed in [town]", "who services commercial refrigeration in [area]") and record who is named and which sources each engine relied on. You cannot fix what you cannot see. This is the before picture the 30-day report is measured against.
Local demand map Real monthly search volumes for heating, cooling and refrigeration services in your towns, pulled from Google data, not guessed. Typically 150 to 400 phrases, ranked by what is worth chasing. It tells you which services and towns to put your name on first, and which are not worth a page.
Google Business Profile rebuild Primary and secondary categories, the full services list, service area by town, a description written to the questions AI engines ask, Q&A seeded, photo brief, and a review link with a printable card for the van. The map pack and the ChatGPT local list are both built from your profile. Reviews decide who gets recommended; this is the machine that collects them.
Website fixes, done for you HVACBusiness, LocalBusiness, Service and FAQPage schema. An llms.txt file. Titles and descriptions retargeted on up to 8 pages. Answer-first FAQ blocks written and added to your three most valuable service pages. Name, address and phone made identical everywhere. This is what AI engines read to decide you are a real HVAC contractor in a real place. It is the work that got our own businesses cited.
Register and directory listings Your entry checked or created on the 6 to 8 registers and directories that AI engines actually cite for heating and cooling firms in your country, with the text prepared for you. RGII for gas work, the SEAI registered installer list for heat pumps and Golden Pages in Ireland; Gas Safe Register, REFCOM or F-Gas registration, MCS for heat pumps and Checkatrade in the UK; the state HVAC contractor licence, EPA 608 certification, NATE, the dealer locators run by Carrier, Trane and Lennox, and the big review sites in the US. When an engine has to choose between two contractors, it picks the one that a trusted third party vouches for.
Indexing Every page we change is submitted the same day: IndexNow for Bing and its partners, and an indexing request in Google Search Console. We check back and confirm each one has been picked up. Changes that Google has not read yet do not exist. Most small sites wait weeks for a recrawl.
30-day rerun and report The same 30 prompts run again 30 days after the work goes live. You get a plain-English before and after report with screenshots, Search Console impressions and clicks, and the next five things to do, whether or not you do them with us. You will know, in numbers, whether it worked. If your business is not named, and your site not cited, in a single prompt where it was absent at the baseline, we do a second round of fixes free.

How it works

How does the HVAC Visibility Fix work?

Order, a 20-minute form, 15 working days of work, a 30-day re-measure. You do not need a sales call, and you do not manage anything.

1

Order

Fill in the order form below. You get a Stripe invoice within one working day. Work starts the next working day after payment.

2

Onboarding, 20 minutes

A short form: your towns, services, any register, F-Gas or licence number, website and profile access, ten job photos. No call needed, though you can book one.

3

15 working days of work

Baseline sweep in week one. Profile, schema, pages and listings in weeks two and three. You get a short email at the end of each week saying what changed.

4

30-day rerun

The same 30 prompts, run again. A before and after report you can read in ten minutes, and the next five things worth doing.

Fit

Who is this for, and who should not buy it?

A good fit

  • •SEO for HVAC contractors and heating and air-conditioning engineers with one van to about fifteen staff, in Ireland, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, whether you do heating only, cooling only, or plumbing and HVAC together.
  • •You already have a website, even a basic one, and a Google Business Profile.
  • •You want more of a specific kind of work: AC installs and repairs, furnace or boiler replacements, heat pumps, maintenance plans, commercial refrigeration, emergency call-outs.
  • •You would rather pay once for a measured fix than sign a 12-month retainer.

Not a fit

  • •No website at all. Email us and we will point you at the cheapest honest route to one first.
  • •Franchises or firms with ten plus branches. That needs the full programme, scoped per branch.
  • •Anyone who wants a guaranteed number one spot in ChatGPT. Nobody can sell that, and we will not pretend to.
  • •Businesses with under five Google reviews that will not ask customers for more. Reviews decide the map pack; we build the system, you have to press send.

The same package is available for eleven trades and professions. See them all, or buy it for any other local business, on the local SEO package page.

Proof

Where has this been done before?

On two businesses we run ourselves, with the numbers recorded as we went. We say plainly what each one is, because it matters: neither is an HVAC company. We have not yet run this package for one. What we have is an electrical wholesaler that sells heating products, which is the closest thing, and a local supply-and-fit trades business, and the numbers below are ours.

Shamrock Electrical, Dublin. Electrical wholesaler, Shopify store.

April 2026 baseline: named in 1 of 10 buyer questions. Schema, FAQ blocks and answer-first guides went live over April and May. By June, ChatGPT named Shamrock first of five retailers for electric radiators in Ireland, and Perplexity was citing it for radiators, floodlights and mirrors. Bing's AI Performance report counted 226 Copilot citations across 29 pages on 4 September and 301 across 36 pages on 7 September, after one more content pass. The heating range is where it was cited first, which is why we say it is the nearest thing to HVAC we have measured.

Caveat: this is a product retailer answering "what is the best" questions, which AI engines are asked far more often than "who should I hire". Read the full case study.

The Home Upgrade Co, Dublin. Kitchens, doors and fitted furniture, supplied and fitted.

This is the closest thing to an HVAC company in how it wins work: a local trades business selling a supply-and-fit service by town. On 25 August 2026 it appeared in 0 of 3 test prompts and had 0 Copilot citations. Service and town pages were built to the same standard used in this package. By 13 September ChatGPT named it in 7 of 10 internal-door prompts and 9 of 24 kitchen prompts, and it was the second most cited domain across 48 kitchen answers. Between 10 and 12 September three customers, asked how they had found us, answered ChatGPT or an AI assistant.

Caveat: those are enquiries and citations, not signed contracts. Nothing on this page promises sales.

Price

How much does it cost?

€1,000 one-time for the HVAC Visibility Fix, about £850 or US$1,150. Two upgrade paths if the 30-day report shows it is worth going further. No VAT is added: Clever Merchants is not VAT registered, so €1,000 is the full amount wherever you are.

The promise

Measured on 30 prompts, or the second round is free

Before we touch anything, we run 30 real prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini and record who is named. Thirty days after the work goes live we run exactly the same 30 again. You get both sets, with screenshots.

"Moved" has one meaning: your business named, or your website cited, in a prompt where it was absent at the baseline. If that has not happened in a single one of the 30, we do a second round of fixes at no cost. What we will not say is that we can guarantee ChatGPT recommends you. OpenAI is explicit that placement cannot be bought, and any agency that promises it is guessing with your money.

Common questions about SEO for HVAC companies

What is SEO for HVAC companies?

SEO for HVAC companies is the work that makes a heating and air-conditioning business show up when someone searches for AC repair, a furnace replacement or a heat pump installer in their town: Google Business Profile, service and area pages, reviews, and consistent business details. In 2026 it also has to cover ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini, which answer the same questions from the same sources.

Do you need my passwords, and what if my web developer will not give access?

No passwords, ever. You add us as a manager on your Google Business Profile and Search Console and remove us the day the report lands. For the website we need an editor login or your developer's email. If the developer refuses or charges, we send them a one-page change sheet with the exact schema, titles and FAQ blocks to paste in, and we check the result.

Who does the work, can it break my site, and what is the refund position?

Ger Devereux does it, personally. Before any edit we take a backup or work on a staging copy, and every piece of page copy is sent to you for approval before it goes live. Full refund at any point before the baseline sweep starts. Once work has started there is no refund, because the sweep and demand map have already been paid for; the second-round promise covers the result.

I am in a rural area. Will there be any search data for my towns?

Often not much below county level, and we say so rather than pad the numbers. In that case the demand map is built at county and nearest-city level, the profile is set up for a service radius rather than a town list, and we put your name on fewer, stronger pages. One service area means one base and the radius you actually drive, usually a county or two.

We do plumbing and HVAC. Do we need two packages?

No. Plumbing and HVAC SEO is one package when it is one business, one Google Business Profile and one service area. The demand map covers both trades, the profile gets both sets of categories and services, and the eight retargeted pages are split between them according to the work you want more of. If the two trades run as separate companies with separate profiles, that is two fixes.

How much does SEO for HVAC companies cost?

HVAC SEO retainers typically run from about £400 a month in the UK and $900 to $2,500 a month in the US, usually with a minimum term. The HVAC Visibility Fix is a one-time €1,000 (about £850 or US$1,150) with no contract. The €3,500 Growth Programme adds new pages, guides and three months of tracking.

Can you guarantee my business will be recommended by ChatGPT?

No, and nobody honestly can. OpenAI says placement in ChatGPT answers is not guaranteed, and its ads are kept separate from the answers. What we do instead is measure 30 real prompts before and after the work. If none of them has moved after 30 days, we do a second round of fixes at no cost.

Does the HVAC Visibility Fix work outside Ireland?

Yes. The method is the same in Ireland, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. What changes is the register and directories AI engines trust for heating and cooling firms: RGII for gas work, the SEAI registered installer list for heat pumps and Golden Pages in Ireland; Gas Safe Register, REFCOM or F-Gas registration, MCS for heat pumps and Checkatrade in the UK; the state HVAC contractor licence, EPA 608 certification, NATE, the manufacturer dealer locators and the big review sites in the US. We map the right ones for your country.

What do I need to give you?

A 20-minute onboarding form, access to your website or your web developer's contact, manager access to your Google Business Profile and Search Console, your RGII, Gas Safe, F-Gas or state licence number if you have one, the towns you cover, the services you want more of, and about ten job photos with the town each was taken in.

Which website platforms do you work on?

WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, GoDaddy, Webflow and static sites. If you have no website at all, this is not the right package; email us and we will tell you the cheapest honest route to one.

How is this different from the free AI visibility check?

The free check tells you whether AI engines mention you today. The HVAC Visibility Fix measures 30 prompts, finds out why you are missing, and then does the fixing: profile, schema, pages, listings, indexing, and a 30-day re-measure. The free check is the diagnosis; this is the work.

How is this different from the €7,500 GEO for Construction programme?

The €7,500 programme is a full 21-day rebuild of your web presence for AI search: schema across the whole site, buyer-question content on every key service page, an entity consistency audit, a citation gap analysis and a 90-day keep-working guarantee. The €1,000 fix works with the pages you already have and touches eight of them. Start with the fix and upgrade once you have seen the 30-day report.

Not sure whether you are invisible?

Run the free check first. It takes a minute and tells you whether AI engines mention your business today. If they already do, you may not need this.
