Do you need an AI agency or an AI consultant in Canada?

How remote works
How does AI consulting work in Canada from a base in Dublin?
Entirely remotely: the review is online, calls happen by video in your morning, and the workflows are built inside the tools you already use.

The time difference is real, so here it is exactly. In September 2026 Dublin is on UTC+1, Toronto on UTC-4 and Vancouver on UTC-7: Toronto is 5 hours behind Dublin and Vancouver is 8 hours behind. Ireland puts its clocks back on 25 October and Toronto and Vancouver follow on 1 November, so for that one week the gaps are 4 and 7 hours, then 5 and 8 again.
In practice a 9am call in Toronto is 2pm in Dublin, and a 9am call in Vancouver is 5pm in Dublin, so calls are booked early in your day. The upside is that work done during the Dublin day is waiting for you when you start. The engagement is designed to run without anyone needing to travel.

Funding in Canada
Is there government funding for AI adoption in Canada?
Some. BDC's LIFT programme finances AI adoption for Canadian SMEs, while the Canada Digital Adoption Program no longer accepts new applications.
Canada's national AI strategy, AI for All, describes LIFT as a CA$500 million Business Development Bank of Canada initiative to help SMEs access financing to bring AI tools into their operations. The same strategy commits CA$500 million to expand the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, delivered through the regional development agencies.
When BDC launched LIFT, it described loans ranging from CA$25,000 to CA$5 million, paired with expert advisory support. It is financing, not a grant, and eligibility and terms are set by BDC.
The older Canada Digital Adoption Program stopped accepting new applications for its Boost Your Business Technology stream on 19 February 2024, so do not plan around it.
